Dr. John P. Hansen, DDS, is one of
Northern California’s — and
one of the country’s — leading practitioners
of cosmetic dentistry.
Customizing each procedure and treatment to the physical
and emotional comfort of his patients, Dr. Hansen
blends aesthetic considerations with functional necessities.
In addition to creating and rebuilding smiles, he
corrects bites and realigns jaw joints, combining
the sciences of reconstruction, prosthodontics and
cosmetology.

A 1994 graduate of the University of California
at San Francisco Dental School, Dr. Hansen’s
academic credentials also include his 1998 graduation
from the Advanced Aesthetic Continuum
at the New York University College of Dentistry,
and his 1999 graduation in Advanced Aesthetics and
Occlusion from the Rosenthal Institute in Palm Beach,
Florida.
Dr. Hansen has given back to his profession by instructing
other dentists to perform some of his innovative
procedures. At least one month a year, he teaches
courses at seminars in New York, Florida and San
Francisco, often alongside one of his mentors, Dr.
Larry Rosenthal, whose patients include many of Hollywood’s
elite. In the winter of 2002, Dr. Hansen taught Advanced
Aesthetics at the Rosenthal Institute at Eastman
Dental Clinic in London, England.
Unique among cosmetic dentists, Dr. Hansen has one
of the only on-premise cosmetic dental laboratories
on the West Coast. Working with a fulltime ceramist,
he’s able to monitor a patient’s treatment
cycle and progress firsthand. “I don’t
believe in ‘farming out’ my patients’ care,” he
says. “My practice is about providing personal
attention. Over the years, I’ve been proud
to form relationships with several generations of
families.”
Dr. Hansen is a Member of the American Academy of
Cosmetic Dentistry and a Fellow of the prestigious,
by-invitation-only International Academy for Dentofacial
Aesthetics. He’s listed in the Who’s
Who Registry for Professionals and Businesses and
has been featured in a number of television, newspaper
and magazine stories. In 2003, he was named one of
the region’s Best Cosmetic Dentists in Sacramento
Magazine.
John Hansen is also a devoted husband and father.
He and his wife Brenda, who manages his practice,
are the parents of three young children. They make
their home in Serrano, in El Dorado Hills, California.
